Matthew Galea
Managing Director
Matthew Galea is the Managing Director and co-founder of Neural AI, Malta's specialist artificial intelligence company. With extensive experience in the technology and AI sector, Matthew leads the company's strategic vision and oversees the delivery of 7-figure AI projects across multiple industries including iGaming, finance, government, and healthcare.
A recognised local expert in artificial intelligence, Matthew is frequently invited to speak at panels, conferences, and TV programmes about AI in Malta. His thought leadership on the impact of AI on business and society has made him a prominent voice in Malta's growing technology ecosystem.
Matthew's leadership combines a deep understanding of AI's commercial potential with a commitment to delivering solutions that create measurable business impact. He works closely with clients at the strategic level, helping organisations identify where AI can drive the most value, and ensuring Neural AI's team delivers on that promise from concept through to production deployment.
Kurt Abela
Technical Director
Kurt Abela is the Technical Director and co-founder of Neural AI. Holding a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Kurt brings a rare combination of deep academic research and hands-on engineering leadership to every project the company delivers.
His doctoral research focused on natural language processing and machine learning, with a particular emphasis on developing AI models for low-resource languages, including Maltese. This work laid the foundation for Neural AI's NeuroMaltese product and the company's expertise in building language AI systems for specialised domains.
Kurt leads all technical delivery at Neural AI, overseeing the architecture, development, and deployment of AI solutions across chatbot development, computer vision, data engineering, and machine learning. His academic rigour combined with production engineering experience ensures every solution meets the highest standards of quality, scalability, and reliability.
